R.I.P. Gray Stocking Cap (2003 - 2007)

If you have seen me at any point in the last 3+ years in any kind of windy or cold weather, odds are that you’ve seen me sporting a gray-with-red-stripes American Eagle stocking cap.
It was the only AE gear in my possession, so of course it was certainly a prized possession. It will be missed.
It was stolen in the early AM hours of Monday morning presumably by a drunken tourist. I can only hope it has a good home. Actually, no I don’t. I wish it would spontaneously combust. If I can’t have it, I don’t want some drunken loser to put it on his nappy head.
The cap (or “toboggan” as its sometimes called in the South) traveled with me around Europe, to Illinois, California, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia and seemingly everywhere in between.
It was originally found after a keg party my senior year at NCSU and has been a Jared-fashion mainstay ever since.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to best honor my fallen item of clothing? I would pour out some Guinness, but it’s too damn expensive here to waste :)
I am deeply saddened, but am looking forward to starting a new noggin’-fashion chapter.
Oh yeah, the North Face jacket I bought less than a week ago was also swiped.
Looks like I will be making use of cloakrooms for the rest of the trip. The ultra-thrifty Croatians Sandor and I were with had insisted that any price was too much to pay to stow our coats.
Moral of the story: watch your stuff and never listen to Croatians :)
